THE TEMPLE GUARD HAS CELEBRATED MORE THAN 50 YEARS OF SERVICE TO MASKAT SHRINE CENTER.

The Temple Guard is one of the oldest and most active units in Maskat. The Nobility of the Temple Guard is proud of the heritage created by our members, past and present, and pledge to continue to serve Maskat  and its Potentate.

The history of the Temple Guard started on the return trip from the Imperial Session in California in the summer of 1950.  Noble George Bodkins, Recorder Al Ellis, and Potentant Earl Bursh devised the plan that resulted in the formation of the Temple Guard. Noble George Bodkins petitioned and was granted a charter by Potentate Earl Burch on October 10, 1950. The unit was designated TEMPLE GUARD, A.A.O.N.M.S. Duties required the unit to assist the Potentate and his staff as necessary. Some (but by no means all) of the duties are:

        Registering Nobility at Shrine Funtions
        Tile the Center
        Assisting with the Ceremonial Wardrobe
Selling and taking tickets for the Shrine funtions

To all non-unit members of Maskat Shrine Center, we the Temple Guard Nobility invite you to join our unit. You will find more enjoyment in your Shrine work if you join a unit. Try it.
