Shrinefest

In 2006, Maskat Shriners started the event known as Shrinefest. This event, in three short years, has become a major happening for the entire region of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.

Shrinefest is an open air, live music concert, held on the Maskat land at Hatton Rd and McKinney Rd, known as the Shrine Arena. This thirty acres just outside the city limits of Wichita Falls, Texas, is transformed into a small city of bands, Shrine workers, vendors, and music lovers, and is packed with activity and entertainment for a full day of what some are calling, “the best dang show in the state” !

The Wild Fez Unit of Maskat Shrine spearheads this event each year. They have worked tirelessly to make it a better event each year, and have exceeded all expectations in this effort. Undaunted by the first year's conflict with a torrential downpour, The “Wild Ones” came back in 2007 with a killer show with thousands of attendees partying all day long to an outrageous lineup of super entertainers ! At last, Shrinefest was “on the map” !

In August of 2008 the 3rd Annual Shrinefest was held. Some 4,000 concert goers flocked into the Shrine Arena to enjoy another round of superb entertainment and activities, including some really upscaled giveaways from a number of Shrinefest's Sponsors. Many left the event expressing their intent to be back again in 2009, asking about the schedule for the 2009 show so they could start making their plans right away.

The Shrine Arena is a 'work in progress'. We are constantly making improvements to better serve Shrinefest, and other events in the future. A total rework of the property is underway, and many great plans for the future are in the works. People can expect this little strip of land to be a type of 'historical site' as a venue for many very notable events in the future.

All of the proceeds from the Shrinefest benefit the Maskat Shrine. And, it is our desire as Maskat Shriners to maximize our efforts in support of the organizations we strive to assist.
